1000 Islands & Boldt Castle Cruise Boat Tour
Almost ALL of our guests end up doing one of the local cruises to tour the 1,000 Islands. You must pre book tickets for both of these.
This one docks 15 minutes away from Bluestar Lakefront Cottage in Downtown Gananoque
This one docks a bit further away so it’s a longer drive but a slightly shorter cruise.
Guided Kayaking Tours: (this goes until October 10)
1,000 Islands Kayaking is a company that provides lessons and guided tours for people of all ages wanting to learn how to kayak or get certifications.
Local Parks
Sculpture Park is located in Downtown Gananoque and is also a big attraction with large metal art sculptures located throughout the park. There is also a cool water dam in the park that kids will enjoy seeing.
Theatres & Museums

The Thousand Islands Playhouse is located in downtown Gananoque 15 minutes from the cottage
At the Royal Theatre located in Downtown Gananoque Elvis Reimagined will be playing. Tickets are available here:
There is also a Movie Theatre & Drive in located in Gananoque. Details of what's playing can be found on their website.
Restaurants & Pubs
Riva
Very nice restaurant in a cool location great food and atmosphere. Likely need a reservation.
Stonewater Pub
Amazing pub food with cool fusion twists. Great portions. Inside dining lower level is like being in a pub in Ireland. Upstairs is a bit more casual and there is a patio too. This is super close to the water front of St Laurence in downtown Gan (this is mine and Adams fave)
Probably don’t need a reservation.
The Purple House Cafe
This is an amazing converted home that has a beautiful patio. The food is great and the atmosphere is amazing. It’s a unique experience. Locals love it. Don’t be scared that they don’t have a website 🙂 Call to book a reservation just in case because this place is popular
The Old English Pub
This place is very very popular and delish. Great portions. Indoor atmosphere feels like you are going into a pub in London England which is very cool. Patio space is limited but if available great for people watching passers by in the main strip of the old part of downtown Gananoque. We always say that this part of Gan looks like it’s out of a hallmark movie. This place gets busy so try and book a reservation.
